For the past few years my role has been to support a few wonderful friends in their literary endeavors to write a 50,000 word novel in the month of November. I have written motivational emails, provided candy bags to kickstart their thinking processes, and rattled off idea after idea, but have always shrugged my shoulders and said that I am far too busy to take part myself.
The purpose of this blog post is explained here:
"Tell everyone you know that you're writing a novel in November. This will pay big dividends in Week Two, when the only thing keeping you from quitting is the fear of looking pathetic in front of all the people who've had to hear about your novel for the past month. Seriously. Email them now about your awesome new book. The looming specter of personal humiliation is a very reliable muse."
OK! Here i go! No humiliation for me. However, just for the record, my goal is a mere 15,000, not 50,000.
Monica, Chelsea, Erika- go for the WIN!!!
Off to hike in the woods- I'm afraid working at a bakery is a carb lover's dream come true...

ReplyDeleteThanks! It was really fun for the first few days!! Still is I suppose, just harder!
ReplyDeleteWow, I didn't know you were doing this! Good luck! I'll be going for a lower word count as well -- hoping for 25,000 this year because of school and all. Keep me updated!
